Founded in December 2003, the Fuyang AIDS Orphan Salvation Association (AOS) is one of the few community-based, non-governmental organizations that specifically supports children affected by HIV/AIDS. AOS is located in Fuyang, Anhui, and is officially registered with the Health Bureau and the Civil Affairs Bureau of Fuyang City. Under the guidance of Zhang Ying, the founder and director of AOS, the organization has emerged as a unique, community-based NGO that now supports about 500 children in Anhui and Henan Province. The growth of AOS was made possible through the support of government members such as the deputy mayor and the health bureau chief of Fuyang, local business leaders, teachers, medical professionals, and journalists. Since its inception, AOS has received additional backing from many circles of society, including scholars, philanthropists, and business leaders. The Chinese Central Television, Shanghai Television, People's Daily, and People Magazine are a few of the many media companies that have reported on AOS. Their extensive coverage has brought more support from individual donors in China and students from various universities such as Tsinghua.

AOS began by providing a few HIV-positive children with physical examinations in Beijing and anti-retroviral (ARV) treatment. Since then, the organization has secured cooperation from local hospitals that provide medical care to the affected children. AOS now gives financial, educational, vocational education, treatment and emotional support to about 500 children affected by HIV/AIDS. The children come from over 300 separate families in 40 different villages. AOS also organized ^Happy Weekend ̄ activities every week for children to help them elimination discrimination and psychological barriers. We are frequently visited in their homes. Furthermore, the volunteers of AOS teach these children English, music, and art lessons in a harmonious environment and let the children get rid of shadow of AIDS. AOS vies its work as providing a platform for meaningful interactions among AIDS patients, children affected by HIV/AIDS, government officials, medical professionals, and individuals concerned about the AIDS epidemic.

AOS hope giving the children a bright future through our hard work step by step.
